About the Project

2VIP is a project co-financed by the European Union through the Erasmus + Key Action 2 Program – strategic partnerships for innovation and the exchange of good practices.

The project was presented and approved on the extraordinary call of October 2020, promoted by the European Commission in response to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and is part of the development of skills and inclusion through creativity and the arts.

The project stems from the belief that the participation of young Europeans in democratic life is an essential value, but their way of being active citizens is changing. The challenge is to help them find creative and innovative ways – closer to their millennial style – to be active protagonists in their communities, in their countries and at the European level.

Project objectives

The project seeks to respond to the needs of youth workers and young people in terms of active citizenship.

On the one hand, it seeks to improve the skills of operators by helping them to develop high-tech methodologies closer to today’s young people and on the other, by promoting the inclusion of young people in decision-making processes, in the protection of common goods and in supporting individuals in conditions of weaknes. through activities that allow them to express their emotions, potentials and aspirations, in order to lead them to be more and more active and protagonists of their growth.

In particular, the project aims to:

  1. Promote the participation of young people in civic life and in general promote citizenship skills for a democratic culture by offering innovative and interactive non-formal educational tools.
  2. Develop communication and ITC skills, learning new methods to engage young citizens through virtual reality and the creation of participatory videos.
  3. Implement high-quality learning opportunities by seeking methodologies tailored to the specific needs of individuals, particularly with marginalized groups (which are more difficult to reach and engage).
  4. Promote the international dimension of non-formal education for a democratic culture.

Results

The project includes:

training days to enhance the professionalism of the youth workers involved, trying to make them more flexible in adapting their methods and tools to the needs of a new generation of young people who are increasingly active, innovative and creative

– a flexible toolbox for the use of Virtual Reality and Participatory Video in the non-formal education of young people

– meeting between the participating partners in order to exchange good practices

TOOLBOX

This is a virtual toolbox intended for youth workers involved in promoting active citizenship at different levels.

In the TOOLBOX you can find everything you need to promote and stimulate the participation of young people in democratic life and make them active protagonists of their time. The material is organized into three sections:
- the section "Let's participate" contains a simple guide to share what participation is and what are the methodologies to stimulate the participation of young people in democratic life
- the section "Let's make a video" contains two quick guides, one containing instructions on how to make videos using Virtual Reality (how to use a VR camera, how to make the set, how to edit the video ...) and the other containing the directions for shooting a traditional Participatory Video
- the section "Let's communicate" which contains a simple handbook on how to use social networks to spread the messages of the project.

GOOD PRACTICES ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP

It is a collection of good practices created thanks to the expertise and know-how of each project partner. The collection aims to create a sort of general framework of the most significant experiences for the promotion of the democratic culture of the younger generations and to encourage the active participation of young people in the civic life of their communities. You can find stories of activities carried out by organizations and youth associations in the territories of origin of the project partners: England, Italy, Poland, Romania, Sweden.
